Education: Bachelors Degree from University of Wisconsin and Master of Arts Degree from Sacramento, California.

About: John Knurr earned his B.M. from UW Milwaukee and a M.A. from California State, Sacramento.  He was a founding member of The Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society and a staff member of the Sacramento Youth Jazz Camp.  John taught music education in the public schools in Sacramento, CA and Williams Bay, WI.  He has taught private piano, brass, and woodwinds lessons for more than 30 years.

As a professional musician, John currently plays with the New South Rampart Street Paraders, a fun, high energy band.  He has also traveled to Europe with the Steamboat Willie New Orleans Jazz Band, playing numerous festivals as well as on cruise ships.  John has had a lifelong love of music and enjoys sharing his passion with his students.
